The fact that Boggy Creek II looks dang near like HD compared to The Legend of Boggy Creek pains me.

Wow...

have you seen The Town that Dreaded Sundown?

There are quite a few titles I need to go out and hunt for when I actually get a "Dad's Day Out" although that usually falls sometime when Christmas shopping starts. Coincidence? I think not.

there was never an "official" dvd release for that film.

you can purchase it over at ioffer.com though.

that site has countless sellers who have obscure films on region free dvds and dvd-R.

I purchased the show UC:Undercover and was satisfied which the dvd set.

there are so many 70's shows/horror films that I plan to buy off that site.

I've still never seen this movie, I always wanted to though.

I never cared for Town That Dreaded Sundown, perhaps that is one of the reasons I've been putting it off.

Does anyone know: is this only available on the public domain releases? Has there ever been a widescreen DVD?

I'm thinking it is about time I picked this up, and I'd like to get the best DVD available.

Sadly, I don't think so.

Here's from the film's Wikipedia:

DVD release

Between 2002 and 2008, Hen's Tooth Video, Education 2000 Inc., Sterling Entertainment, Unicorn Video and Cheezy Flicks Entertainment all released The Legend of Boggy Creek on Region 1 DVD. Several of these versions are now out of print.

In 2005, Elite Entertainment released the sequel, Boggy Creek II: And The Legend Continues, on Region 1 DVD.
Additionally, in 2004, the Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode that lampooned the film was released on DVD by Rhino Entertainment.
Only the Rhino Entertainment version is still in print.
